Ant-Man, 2015 - ★★★½

Perfect in a double bill with A Bug's Life.

The newest movie in the MCU is about Ant-Man aka Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), who gets his powers from a suit designed by Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas). He has to fight Darren Cross aka Yellowjacket (Corey Stoll) to save the world.

First off thanks to CGI for starting this movie with a 40 year old Michael Douglas. I really think that special effect blew me away the most.

Also I loved the ant-perspective we get. Very early into the movie we have a scene of Ant-Man in a giant bathtub and it looked awesome.
Also the fight scenes of little Ant-Man vs giant people were fun to watch.

I have some problems with the story though. To be honest I was a little bored at the beginning. There is a whole storyline between Hank Pym and his daughter Hope (Evangeline Lilly) that got resolved half way through the movie and just felt unnecessary to me. Would have beennhappy without that. The rest of the story was good, but still just an origin story, so nothing special. That's not a bad thing, I enjoyed the storyline.

There weren't as many jokes in this as I expected, but enough to keep me happy.

All in all a cool new character to add to the MCU Roster and a fun origin story. I give it 3.5 out of 5 stars.
