I have no idea what happened in this movie. But I loved it.
I am the pretty thing that lives in the house is a slow burn ghost story about a easily scared nurse taking care of an elderly horror writer.
Every single scene of this movie was beautiful. Just visually alone this was a masterpiece. Some scenes looked straight out of a video game (a horror game of course), others looked like one of those creepy old paintings your grandma has in her attic.
From the very first second I was caught and scared. It always just feels off, just a little bit. And as the movie goes on everything get's weirder, scarier and creepier, the angles, the zooms, the music.
Sound editing was great. There were lots of silent scenes, with just the background sounds. And they were super intriguing.
The biggest part is the story though. Maybe I'm wrong here, but I think this movie is made to give birth to theories and discussion. But, unlike in some other movies like this, I feel like there is a right answer. If you analyze every scene in this movie, in the end they will make sense somehow. So right now I'm waiting for someone to do exactly that and then explain it to me.
All in all I really enjoyed this movie a lot. I was creeped out throughout, there were no annyoing jump scares, and everything felt deserved. I'm rating this movie 4 out of 5 stars and a like.
