"Nobody's perfect." But this movie is close.
I went into this movie, a crime comedy romance from 1959 that I've seen homages to and parodies of, and I didn't expect much. Old comedies are usually not my metier. Especially old romantic comedies. But this one got me.
First of all the story is great. It all happens so naturally that it doesn't even feel weird or forced that these two guys become musicians in an all female band.
And all the relationships that happen feel natural.
The acting was good, the actors all had a great chemistry.
This movie was shot well and the editing was great. There is one scene in which two romantic evenings are happening at the same time and they are edited through a camera movement. It looks awesome and actually adds to the comedy.
Also the comedy. This movie was funnier than most recent comedies I've seen. The laughs came naturally through dialogue, and there was also physical humor.
Also damn was Marilyn Monroe hot!
All in all I thoroughly enjoyed this movie, had a great time and lots of laughs. I'm rating it 4.5 out of 5 stars and a like.
