I didn't know much about this movie going in, but I heard it's good. Since it was going to leave Mubi I decided to watch it.
An up and coming porn star meets an old lady and they become friends. That's the plot put into one sentence.
But of course there is more to it. The grumpy old lady opens up to the young happy girl slowly, but it doesn't feel forced. I genuinely felt for the characters and could understand why they made the moves they made.
There is one annoying character, the girl our main protagonist lives with. She is very annoying and I'm not sure any character can be that stupid/weird.
But everything else was great and felt realistic. I really enjoyed this movie and had a lot of fun and feelings.
Also, on a side note, I'm really impressed by Besedka Johnson. This was her only role, and she died shortly after the release, but she did a great job and felt genuine. Also IMDb trivia tells me she always wanted to be an actress but never made it, and if that is true, this makes me really happy.
All in all a really good movie, I enjoyed it a lot. I'm rating this movie 4.5 out of 5 stars and a big like.
