This was really enjoyable.

In Crank, Jason Statham is poisoned, if his heart rate sinks under a certain amount, he dies. So while he is trying to find the guy who poisoned him, he has to go through great lengths to keep his heart rate up to not die.

This is really a high speed, non stop action movie. Not only that, but the comedy is on point, it's really funny. The directors used a great visual style, that I always connect to those early 2000s movies, with lots of fast zooms, shaking cameras and just everything moving.

Some of the effects where also really early 2000s, but hey, I forgive them.

This was actually a really bloody movie, set in a kind of crazy world of a serial killer. Every character we meet on the way is crazy, weird but also interesting.

All in all I had a great time watching this, but also it was just a dumb action comedy, so I'm rating this movie 4 out of 5 stars and a like.

I love Tim Burton. Most of you might already know this from my reviews. I love his style, I love how quirky everything is.

In this story, Victor, a young man, accidentally marries a corpse. Sounds weird, but it's fun.

We have the usual suspects when it comes to Burton: Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham-Carter, Danny Elfman and even Sir Christopher Lee. They all do a good job voicing their characters.

The visuals are great, this movie looks great. It's really Tim Burtons style, a kids movie but also for grown ups. It doesn't really care who it is for, as long as it's for Tim Burton.
This is a stop motion movie, which is probably my favorite form of animation. Stop motion just has this very special feel to it.

So in this movie, many good things for me come together, and it's only a 74 minute long movie, so you can't really go wrong watching it. I'm rating it 3.5 stars and a like.

This movie was mostly bad and propaganda BUT the fight choreography was pretty awesome. Guess Asians are just born with good fight choreo.

I guess today was international movie night, starting with a movie in French and ending with one in North Korean.

This was actually more fun than I expected, nothing great but also a fun time with lots of references played with bananas.

Yeah, this is shit.

You may have read how Scary Movie is my guilty pleasure movie and that I usually like or at least get something out of these Parody movies.

Every joke was not only bad, but also predictable. I sometimes wonder how these movies are even made. Never does one get the idea to just stop?

What I liked were the goofs at the end, because it means at least the actors had fun, so I guess something good came out of this.

I'm rating this 1 star, because it didn't give you eye cancer, visually it is watchable. But yeah, still, it hurts physically to watch these jokes. Don't watch it.

Instructions for a Light & Sound Machine, 2005 - ★★★★

Tscherkassky manages to surprise me every time I watch one of his movies.

This time, he managed to take footage from the Good, the Bad and the Ugly and cut it into something completely different, with Eli Wallach as the main character instead of a side-character. And finally, in the fourth movie of his I saw, he managed to create a full narrative, that totally makes sense.

We get the story of this cowboy that is hanged (and probably shot), dies and wakes up back on a big cemetery. Or maybe that's hell. Who knows. Probably not even Tscherkassky himself.

The visuals are great, it is really interesting to look at. It's in black and white and he really managed to make a complete, easy to understand story out of an old movie. As a short, this is really enjoyable and quickly watched.

I'm rating it 4 out of 5 stars and a big like.

It Might Get Loud, 2009 - ★★★

I went into this movie expecting the history of the guitar with the help of 3 great guitarists. But it is more about these three great guitarists and their guitars and how they handle their most precious instrument.

We get Jimmy Page, the guitarist of Led Zeppelin, The Edge of U2 Fame and Jack White, founder of the White Stripes. All three are great guitar players, no questions asked. And they all have their own taste and style of music and guitar playing.

I didn't know that much about those three, of course I know their bands and I know their famous songs, but I learned much more about them.

Also as a musician myself I really enjoyed this documentary. Not only did we get to see cool guitars, we also got to listen to great music. I especially enjoyed hearing them play two songs together at the end.

All in all it's a very interesting documentary, well shot although sometimes a little confusing, but really a fun time. I'm rating it 3 out of 5 movies.
