Angel Heart, 1987 - ★★★★
I never guess the ending to movies, but I did for this. So either it's pretty easy to guess or I'm getting smarter.

A Man Escaped, 1956 - ★★★★★
Wow what a powerful movie.
I knew how it would end and I was still on the edge of my seat, wondering what was going to happen, anf if everything will be working as planned.
With The Conjuring 2 the movie felt so stylized that the scares didn't really work for me and I started paying attention to cinematography and wondering how it was made.
WIth A Man Escaped I actually forgot I was watching a movie, I felt like I was with the prisoner, wishing I could help him.
I still noticed some cinematography though, I love that we never really see the guards faces. Because of this little subconcious thing they felt even stronger, they didn't feel like people, but just like this faceless force, danger.
What's really special is that this movie is real. It was shot in the exact prison the guy was helt, it was all done like he told it, with him as consultant. They even used the real ropes he used. That's just crazy.
I'm rating this movie 5 out of 5 stars, it's a recommend for everyone.
Death Race 2000, 1975 - ★★★
This was actually way more fun than I would have ever imagined. It's not a great movie, but it is just a fun time. And with a running time of only a little more than 60 minutes, you really can't go wrong.
Also Pre-Rocky Silvester Stallone.

Malibu Express, 1985 - ★★
I guess Cody is the sexiest man ever, only his voice makes women want to take their breasts out.
Jesus Camp, 2006
Wow this documentary was really scary. Wish they'd do a "Jesus Camp 2: 10 years later".
John Wick: Chapter 2, 2017 - ★★★★½
I loved John Wick a lot, it is one of my favorite action movies. I just really enjoy movies about a character who is just great, maybe even the best, at what he does.
I especially liked that every kill felt deserved, he went after despicable characters. So I was a little down when, after the great opening, he had to go after a character that felt innocent, or at least not deserving of her death. Luckily, it turned around and her part was just to make the movie happen.
And after that I really enjoyed this movie. I always wanted to learn more about the world, the Hotels, how everything works. And we got it.
Also there were great action scenes, great fight scenes. Awesome fight scenes. Stunning choreography. Just for that and for the story, I'm rating this movie 4.5 stars, I enjoyed it so much, it is so much fun.
Four Rooms, 1995 - ★★★½
One Hotel. Four Rooms. 4 directors. One Tim Roth.
Let me start off talking about Tim Roth as the bellhop of the hotel. At first I was wondering if his character would be silent throughout the movie, and he would pull it off for sure.
I'm being used to rough Tim Roth, or at least normal Tim Roth, but this was a very quirky Tim Roth, and I liked it.
Now to the rooms. The first story is about a coven of witches, trying to resurrect another witch. The story is weird and surely a crazy way to start off the movie. It's nothing great but a fun time.
The next room is a big misunderstanding, where a crazy husband thinks the Bellboy was his wives lover. I didn't like that short as much, but it was okay.
Robert Rodriguez' room is about misbehaving children, the kids of Antonio Banderas. Tim Roth has to take care of the kids, but instead decides to just leave them alone. And things go wrong.
That story is crazy, so much happening, I enjoyed it.
But still all three stories don't hold a candle to Tarantinos story, in which the bellhop is invited to a party of a man from Hollywood, to help them sort out a bet.
The dialogue is just crazy good. And we also have Bruce Willis as an uncredited character. I really enjoyed that one.
Without Tarantino, this anthology movie would be forgotten for sure, but Tarantino made a 4.5 star segment. So I'm rating the movie 3.5 stars.
The General, 1926 - ★★★★½
This movie is really fun, especially the stunts, just stunning. I can't imagine the problems they must have had filming all those train scenes.
They still hold up to this day.
Also with these classic movies I'm never sure if the music I heard was the music playing with the actual movie, but the score I heard was fantastic, it almost felt like watching a sound movie.

The Lego Batman Movie, 2017 - ★★★½
It's not as funny as the Lego Movie, but it tries real hard.
The animation is top notch, it still feels like they are just filming actual lego figures. And I really love the world they are building, where there are no copyright borders. We could literally get to see everything happen in lego form.
I liked the movie and I'm rating it 3.5 stars.
Forgetting Sarah Marshall, 2008 - ★★★★
Jason Segel wrote this movie. Jason Segel stars in this movie. You see Jason Segels penis Three Times.
I think it's fair to assume Segel just wanted to show us all his Penis.
Black Sabbath, 1963 - ★★★★
TubiTV Germany makes me so happy. Not only did they have some banned movies on there, but they also brought me Black Sabbath (which so far only goes on DVD for around 70 euros), and they even added the Extended Version with the segments with Boris Karloff introducing the movies.
And this movie is so much fun, many genuine scary scenes, also interesting stories, great ideas. And really good special effects.
The Brand New Testament, 2015 - ★★★★½
What a great mix of ... pretty much everything. We have lots of great humor, we have a new kind of perspective on the Bible that might offend some hardcore Christians, but if you have any sense of humor you will have a good time.
But it also has heart, lots of it. There are some great philosophic thoughts in this, some things that could be (and even might be) in the bible to some extend.
I also really like the idea that starts off the plot: Every person learns their date of death. What would you do of that? Would you like it or would it be horrible? These are the kind of questions you wouldn't ask yourself during most comedies, but this movie manages to walk this line between fun and deep perfectly.
Adding to that it's well shot and just my style of humor, visual and in words. I'm rating this movie 4.5 out of 5 stars, a like and a big recommendation.
The Conjuring 2, 2016 - ★★★
It was enjoyable enough, beautifully shot. Everything looked great and even Cinemasins removed a sin for how great it looks.
But these jump scares really annoy me by now. There is nothing subtle to this movie at all. Almost every scene is just siiiilence and then BOOO. To paraphrase the Cinemasins video: At one point they literally resort to pulling up the covers shouting Boo. And those Jump Scares took me out of the movie, and I think that's the reason I wasn't scared by the good scares in this movie. When the Nun's shadow walks up to the painting, people were scared by that. I was so out of the movie by that point I just thought "Well, that's a cool shot."
But in the end it is still an interesting story, with stunning visuals, so I'm giving it a 3 out of 5 stars.
Split, 2016 - ★★★★ (contains spoilers)
This review may contain spoilers.
To be quite honest, I enjoyed this movie as it was, but it got a giant bump for the ending. I think that's not how it should work, but that ending, having it all be part of the same universe was awesome. Because this means it's a sequel to Unbreakable, and probably one of the first movies just about the supervillain.
I love this whole "setting superhero movies in reality", because this is a real world, such a real and normal world that the ending caught me completely of guard.
I can't wait to see the sequel that puts this and Unbreakable together.

The Presence, 2014 - ★★★
Wow, a found footage horror movie from Germany. And it's not even bad.
It's more or less Paranormal Activity... but in a castle.

The Ring Two, 2005
Sometimes I have no interest in seeing a sequel to a horror movie but watch it just because cinemasins released a youtubevideo about that movie. That was the reason I watched this.
And yeah, I was right. No need to watch it. Some fun scenes, but it could not stand up to the original. Crazy that this was directed by the "creator" of the original.

Maximum Overdrive, 1986
I'm a big Stephen King fan. I own and am currently working through his whole bibliography.
And now I've seen all movies he directed, and I loved all the movies he directed.
This movie isn't good. It's fun, but not good. There is so much happening, so many great scenes. I really enjoyed it. But I can't rate it.
10 Cloverfield Lane, 2016 - ★★★★½
What a great movie. Everything about it is just awesome. I especially liked the score to this movie which was really in the foreground since there was lots of silence.
John Goodman is just perfect and he really deserved a nomination for this movie. He was so believable.
The ending seems a bit tacked on, but in the end, I get it.
4.5 out of 5 stars.
Fermat's Room, 2007 - ★★★
When I heard the setup, a group of mathematicians locked in a room, having to solve puzzles while the walls come closer, I was hooked. It sounded like a great idea and I was excited to see it.
Sadly, it wasn't as cool as I hoped it would be. It was a good movie, don't get me wrong. Just not what I expected. The puzzles and riddles were fairly well known, I've seen half of them before. All nothing you need the best mathematicians in the world for.
In the end it was still an enjoyable movie, about 4 characters held up in a room, leaving you guessing, making you think. The DVD cover compared it to saw which I'd say is a fair connection to make.
It was fun, and it's a recommendation for sure. 3 out of 5 stars.
