I love Stephen King, and I loved the source material, the book Misery.
This movie was great. It was actually true to the book, but a little different so it wasn't boring if you read the book.
A good addition, in my opinion, was the sheriff and his wife. They brought in 2 characters that lighten the mood a little bit if needed, characters that are lovable. Also, it changed the impact of other scenes that happened later on.
The acting was great, especially Kathy Bates who clearly deserved that Oscar. James Caan was great, too, no questions asked.
Rob Reiner is a great director, I'm a little ashamed I mostly knew him as "The old yelling guy from Wolf of Wall Street". This movie was great.
I really enjoyed Misery, it's a great horror movie, no jump scares needed, no supernatural stuff happening. It's just about a situation, about people, and that is truly scary.
I rate this movie 4.5 out of 5 stars and a big like.
