Gone Girl, 2014 - ★★★★

Wow what a movie.

Nick Dunne (Ben Affleck) and Amy Dunne (Rosamunde Pike) are married. Nick doesn't seem too happy with Amy and on their 5 year anniversary he leaves for a talk with his sister Margo (Carrie Coon) and when he comes home, his girl is gone... a Gone Girl if you will... anyway. Very soon police and media start to think he killed her. Did he? Gotta watch the movie to know.

There are some twists and turns in this movie and even though I know one of them I still enjoyed this very much. I expected to actually not enjoy it as much because I knew a twist, but I don't think that really matters that much. It's an intriguing story and even though there are twists this is a movie made for a second watch.

The acting is great, especially Rosemunde Pike, she clearly deserves the oscar she won. Ben Affleck also did a great job but to be honest, everyone did.

The movie is crazy and what an ending. That's something you don't see often in a big Hollywood movie. But I don't wanna spoil anything.

David Fincher did a great job, as always. This movie is shot awesomely, looks great.

I only have a few problems with this movie. Even though it didn't feel too long, it still was long and I actually had to watch it in two sitting because I didn't have the time to watch it in a whole.
My second problem was there were lots of fades to black which, after some time, started to annoy me and pull me out of the movie a little bit.

All in all a great movie, 4 out of 5 stars and a like.
