Saw this movie in a drive-in-theatre as a double feature with Mad Max - Fury Road.
The Minions are ... beings, that were born to help evil people and throughout the ages they try to find the one to help, but always end up losing them. So 1968, Kevin, Stuart and Bob, three of the minions head out to find the one. After heading to America, they find out there is a "Villain-Con" in Orlando.
I usually don't mention this at this point in my review but I love this soundtrack. This movie is set in the 1960s so there are a lot of 60s songs, and we all know the 60s were a great time for music. I think there is only one piece of original music in this movie, in the ending credits... and I'm not sure if the song that is sung by Bob is maybe an original song too.
So, I went into this pretty blind, because to be honest, I didn't care much about it. I have seen the first despicable me years ago, never seen the second one and I thought the minions were way too overhyped. I didn't care at all, but, as I said in the opening, it was in a drive in theatre and I never was to one so I decided to go.
And I really loved it.
It was laugh out loud funny in many parts. I didn't expect to love it this much, but I did.
It was a german dub, so I can't say much about the voice acting, but the german voice actors did a pretty good job.
All in all a great comedy, not only for children but also for grown ups. I rate it 4 out of 5 stars.
