Smosh: The Movie, 2015 - ★

You can also find this review on Letterboxd

This is basically on the same level as Bat Thumb, but in this case it is feature-length...

Anthony and Ian are two normal californian tweens. While Anthony grew up and started working as a pizza delivery guy, Ian spent all his time watching youtubevideos and being a perv. One day, a video of Anthony being an idiot surfaces on Youtube and he wants it deleted before he meets the girl he loved since high-school on the 5 year high school reunion. So they go to Youtube-headquaters where Mr. Steve Youtube explains them they have to go into a portal and change the video ...

The story doesn't make sense at all. Why would he not want her to see this video? She was live there with him when he did the stupid flip and failed. So she already knew it anyway.
All in all there is not much I can say about it, I really didn't like it, it was so stupid. Of course youtube was featured and it had some youtube-people (only 4 that I know of other than the two main guys from smosh.
Ian is one of the worst characters in movies, a character-type that I hate the most in comedies, he is stupid and selfish but has all the luck. I hate when writers put those kind of characters in a movie.

There weren't many funny jokes to be honest. I usually didn't hate the videos of Smosh, I even liked some of them. But in this movie there was not one joke that made me laugh, I only laughed because I couldn't believe the stupidity of what happened on screen.

Literally nothing makes sense.

At least it is watchable, I didn't cringe all the time or simply couldn't watch it. But it is clearly aimed at those 12- year old Youtube kiddies that still write FIRST on every video they see.

I rate this movie 1 star out of 5. Don't watch it. Just don't.
